Description:
This software company is looking for an enthusiastic individual to help customers successfully utilize our software. You will work onsite at a very large bank, located in NYC and London, England. (50% travel is required) This person will communicate with company sales representatives to plan and create state-of-the-art enterprise information integration (EII) solutions. You will be identifying and solving customer problems and presenting technical concepts which map customer needs to companies current and future product offerings.
This individual will also provide product feedback to the Marketing and Engineering to help improve our products.
Position Qualities:
· Solid working experience with other banks or financial institutions
· Fluently write/read SQL and Stored Procs
· Query analysis, debugging and tuning
· Strong knowledge of database design and architecture concepts
· Java or OO programming - (Server developed in Java and can be extended in the field with Java)
· UNIX – Most customers deploy on a flavor of UNIX/Linux
· Web Services and surrounding technologies (WSDL, XML, XSL, Xpath, XQuery, etc)
Responsibilities include:
* Provide technical expertise to customers implementing leading edge integration software.
* Performing high visibility proof of concept implementations at prospective customer sites
* Providing technical expertise to the sales force as they develop new prospects
* Presenting technical concepts and mapping customer needs to current and future product offerings
* Providing product feedback to Product Marketing and Engineering
Required Skills
Database
In-depth knowledge and experience with data base concepts, architectures, and deployments. This person is most valuable if they have straddled the line between DBA and developer and have in-depth experience with one of the following:
* Oracle
* Sybase
* DB2
Additionally, extensive hands-on experience writing stored procedures in these systems is important, especially if used in conjunction with scripting languages such as:
* PL/SQL
* T-SQL
Java
* Solid Java or OO programming skills required. Development level expertise is a plus.
* Solid knowledge of JDBC
OS
* UNIX/Linux/Windows
* Hands-on, ability to trouble-shoot and debug product installations.
* Scripting for UNIX/Linux
* UNIX/Linux system Admin skills a plus
Web Services
* Understanding of web services and associated protocols/standards/specifications:
* SOAP
* WSDL
* XSLT
* XML
Other
* 5+ years post-sales experience
* History of success in large, complex implementations
* Experience mapping business requirements to technology capabilities
* Ability to take ownership of an issue and lead disparate parties to a timely resolution
* In-depth understanding of Windows and UNIX environments
* In-depth knowledge and experience with database concepts, architectures, and deployments
* Hands-on experience with web services and associated protocols/standards/ specifications – SOAP, WSDL, XSLT, XML
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
* University degree in engineering or computer science
