Description
This software company is looking for an
enthusiastic individual to help customers successfully technically represent the
company's software. You will work directly with federal sales representatives to
plan and create state-of-the-art enterprise information integration (EII)
solutions. You will be presenting technical concepts which map customer needs to
companies current and future product offerings. This position is very customer
facing and very hands-on.
This individual will also provide product feedback to the Marketing and
Engineering to help improve our products.
Position Qualities:
- Fluently write/read SQL and Stored Procs
- Query analysis, debugging and tuning
- Strong knowledge of database design and architecture concepts
- Java or OO programming - (Server developed in Java and can be extended in
the field with Java)
- UNIX – Most customers deploy on a flavor of UNIX/Linux
- Web Services and surrounding technologies (WSDL, XML, XSL, Xpath, XQuery,
etc)
Responsibilities include:
- Work with the regional field office technically representing the company's
software.
- Manage, implement, and drive proof of concepts, field trials, and
pilots.
- Present and articulate technical concepts and map customer needs to
current and future product offerings.
- Work with sales team to develop responses to RFIs and prepare commercial
proposals for customers.
- Work with customers and partners to support ongoing sales activities.
- Provide product feedback to Product Marketing and Engineering.
- Work closely with field sales representative to strategize on accounts
from both a business and technical perspective.
Requirements
Database
In-depth
knowledge and experience with data base concepts, architectures, and
deployments. This person is most valuable if they have straddled the line
between DBA and developer and have in-depth experience with one of the
following:
Additionally, extensive hands-on experience writing stored procedures in
these systems is important, especially if used in conjunction with scripting
languages such as:
Java
Solid Java or OO programming skills required. Development level expertise is
a plus.
Solid knowledge of JDBC
OS
- UNIX/Linux/Windows
- Hands-on, ability to trouble-shoot and debug product installations.
- Scripting for UNIX/Linux
- UNIX/Linux system Admin skills, a plus
- Web Services
Understanding of web services and associated
protocols/standards/specifications:
Other
- 5+ years pre-sales experience.
- University degree in engineering or computer science.
- Hands-on, technical, problem solver.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with data base concepts, architectures,
and deployments.
- In-depth understanding of Windows and UNIX environments.
- Development experience working with Java or other OO programming
languages.
- Understanding of web services and associated
protocols/standards/specifications – SOAP, WSDL, XSLT, XML.
- History of success in large, complex sales situations.
- Highly articulate and clear speaking and writing skills; accomplished
public presentation skills.
- TS/SCI Clearance required, CI Polygraph, is a plus
- Travel required
